چکیده

The Σ-method for structural analysis of a differential-algebraic equation (DAE) system produces offset vectors from which the sparsity pattern of a system Jacobian is derived. This pattern implies a block-triangular form (BTF) of the DAE that can be exploited to speed up numerical solution. The paper compares this fine BTF with the usually coarser BTF derived from the sparsity pattern of the signature matrix. It defines a Fine-Block Graph with weighted edges, which gives insight into the relation between coarse and fine blocks, and the permitted ordering of blocks to achieve BTF. It also illuminates the structure of the set of normalised offset vectors of the DAE, e.g. this set is finite if and only if there is just one coarse block.

A DAESA — a Matlab Tool for Structural Analysis of Differential-Algebraic Equations: Theory

DAESA, Differential-Algebraic Equations Structural Analyzer, is a MATLAB tool for structural analysis of differential-algebraic equations (DAEs). It allows convenient translation of a DAE system into MATLAB and provides a small set of easy-to-use functions. DAESA can analyze systems that are fully nonlinear, highindex, and of any order. It determines structural index, number of degrees of freed...

THE (△,□)-EDGE GRAPH G△,□ OF A GRAPH G

To a simple graph $G=(V,E)$, we correspond a simple graph $G_{triangle,square}$ whose vertex set is ${{x,y}: x,yin V}$ and two vertices ${x,y},{z,w}in G_{triangle,square}$ are adjacent if and only if ${x,z},{x,w},{y,z},{y,w}in Vcup E$. The graph $G_{triangle,square}$ is called the $(triangle,square)$-edge graph of the graph $G$. In this paper, our ultimate goal is to provide a link between the ...

Graph Theoretical Methods for Finding Analytical Redundancy Relations in Overdetermined Differential Algebraic Systems

One approach for design of diagnosis systems is to use residuals based on analytical redundancy. Overdetermined systems of equations provide analytical redundancy and by using minimal overdetermined subsystems, sensitivity to few faults is obtained. In this paper, overdetermined differential algebraic systems are considered and their structure is represented by bipartite graphs with equations a...

An algebraic calculation method for describing time-dependent processes in electrochemistry – Expansion of existing procedures

In this paper an alternative model allowing the extension of the Debye-Hückel Theory (DHT) considering time dependence explicitly is presented. From the Electro-Quasistatic approach (EQS) introduced in earlier studies time dependent potentials are suitable to describe several phenomena especially conducting media as well as the behaviour of charged particles (ions) in electrolytes. This leads t...

Optimal adaptive leader-follower consensus of linear multi-agent systems: Known and unknown dynamics

In this paper, the optimal adaptive leader-follower consensus of linear continuous time multi-agent systems is considered. The error dynamics of each player depends on its neighbors’ information. Detailed analysis of online optimal leader-follower consensus under known and unknown dynamics is presented. The introduced reinforcement learning-based algorithms learn online the approximate solution...
